“It comes up to come out. Let truth prevail!” – Margie Nix

It’s easy to say you’re submitted and loyal to your leaders until they don’t agree with you or you don’t agree with them. ~ Keith Nix

Isn’t it true for all of us? It’s all smooth sailing and fun in the sun until our leader, mentor, boss, or spiritual parents ask something of us that we don’t like or they bring a word of correction; even a loving correction can ensue a stab of rebellion inside of us. But, this is where our true character is tested. It is in those times that our loyalty (or lack thereof) truly reveals itself.

I shouldn’t have to balance this out, but just in case, you all know I’m not talking about someone asking you to do something sinful, wrong, or immoral. I’m talking about your godly leaders, those who God, Himself, has raised up to lead you. They’re people of integrity and have a heart submitted to the Father. Perfect? NO. But, trustworthy because you follow them as they follow HIM.

Let’s make an intentional effort to be submitted and loyal to those the Lord has given to us. They’re a blessing in our lives. It’s a key to successful living. EVERYONE, even leaders, should have mentors and spiritual parents they lean on and glean from.

Pro. 9:9, Pro. 1:5, Pro. 13:20

“Obey your leaders and submit to them, for they keep watch over your souls as those who will give an account. Let them do this with joy and not with grief, for this would be unprofitable for you.” Heb. 13:17
