Pondering connections tonight… I believe there are three types of connections we make in life: casual connections, continual connections, and Kingdom connections. You quickly realize which one you’ve made in just a little while in a new relationship. Casual connections are mostly for occasional fellowship, not much networking or team working; continual connections are those that grow into relationships, but remain somewhat distant; and then, there are Kingdom connections. These connections are life-changing for all people involved, they grow into relationships that may not be “tight” but become durable and life-long. The connections are eternal and many times develop into covenant relationships, they are very few and far between. Another name would be, God-connections. These connections are undeniably orchestrated by God Himself. You will find that your calling and visions are very similar to those you make Kingdom connections with. These people, though sharing the same goals in life and ministry as you, many times have very different personalities and resources. This is God’s way of furthering His Kingdom! People who are Kingdom-connected network and teamwork toward a common goal using their own resources, outlets, and personalities.
I thank God for all three of these connections. All of these together can create a very well-rounded and sweet life! However, I am most thankful for the Kingdom-connections in my life. We are working together for the glory of God and the good of people.
Interesting article…. what is your comment about “differences developing with time in God- connections” ?
Excellent question! By my personal understanding of God-connections (Kingdom-connections) I believe they can change with time. Different seasons in life may cause people to become distant due to physical relocations, changes in vision or differences in the next step to take once a portion of the vision has been fulfilled, etc. People may even lose contact altogether. But, I still call these Kingdom-connections and will consider us connected in the Spirit for life. Many times, there will be reconnections even several years later. Again, I believe these are very rare connections anyway.
